Purple flower again

I know I have shown a similar card, but I made a few changes. I needed to make a larger 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 card. I enlarged the flower cut file before I cut them out but they just seemed lost on the bigger card. I decided to add a flourish to ground the flowers. Of course I had to add some bling too.

Decorative diamond design

I was inspired by the diamond design in this scrapbook paper. I made a cut file for the diamond decoration.
The picture above is what I got by just cutting the design out of paper. In the cards below I embossed the image. I just used the cut file to cut 4 decorations, stacked & glued them together, and emossed my paper using the rubber mats that I use with embossing plates.

Feel free to take the cut files if you like the design.

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #72

I am not a very good stamper. I keep trying different things thinking if I just keep playing with stamps and ink that I will eventually get better and/or find something that works for me. After following Rebekka's site A Diamond in the Rough, I saw a challenge I just had to enter. It is called Stampin Sisters In Christ. The site was very inspirational so I felt compelled to attempt a project.

I suffer from severe extensive nerve damage. Among other things I use a pain patch. The patch is covered with a plastic sheet (so the medicine does not touch the packaging) and is sealed in a foil lined pouch. One day when opening the pouch it dawned on me that I might be able to use these foil lined papers. I cut one open and embossed it.
It turned out sooo cool!

With this stamping project in mind, I decided to color one of these sheets with alcohol inks and stamp on it.

Pretty! But it gets better...
By happy accident I smeared ink on the sheet, so I wiped the ink off with a baby wipe. The ink came off but the alcohol ink stayed. The silver showed through the areas where the ink had been.

Even prettier!

Here are the finished cards.

I was very happy with them.

The focus for the card challenge is "new". The scripture focus is
2 Cor.5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
I have lived with pain for several years now. I had to stop working, shopping, cooking, and going to church. It is just too painful to get out. While my life is different now, God has used my situation to show me so many things that I was too busy to listen to in the past. I have been saved for many years, but God has truly done a new work in me in the past few years. He has been so faithful and loving. He has brought me to a deeper understanding of His love and grace.

This morning when I got ready to put my pain patch on I did not focus on the pain. I focused on the new meaning God has allowed me to see. I am no longer able to do very many things physically, but it is ok because God has given me a new lease on life.

Out a tool used to treat my pain, I have found a new craft technique and a symbol of the beauty God can bring to a difficult situation.

Butterfly Cameo

I have been seeing a lot of cameo shapes on cards and scrapbook lately. I thought I would do a twist on the old cameo idea and use a butterfly silhouette rather than a lady.
I really like the way the cards came out.
Unfourtunately, these are not my cut files and I can not find any active links to them. I have no idea where I got the butterfly. The frame is from Penny Duncan Designs and it was called "ornate oval frame" back when I downloaded it. I couls not find it on her site today though- sorry.

Journal cover

For the new year, I needed a new journal. I covered a spiral notebook with paper from K and Co. Black and Ivory papers. The solid black and purple are Bazzil.

Made a pocket for the inside cover.

Decorated the back.

Pink Flowers

I made a hot pink brithday card for the daughter of a friend. She will be 10 so I think she will like it.
Here is the SVG for the scalloped card

Here is a SCAL for the scalloped card

Here is a file for the simple flowers (I have shown this before)

My cards are turning out too girly

Well, I have been making some card sets to send to soldiers, but I am finding that most of my cards look rather feminine.
